This is so true it's not even funny anymore...

I took the late Professor Stephen Jay Gould's course on evolutionary biology in college. It was at 8:30 in the morning (very early for college), and he would lock the doors to the lecture hall at exactly 8:30. For the first few classes, there would be loud banging several times from 8:31AM to 8:45AM as people would try to open the doors to get in. Eventually, everyone got the point and came on time, but it was actually pretty funny. Professor Gould would just ignore the loud racket and keep lecturing.
myblog: Well, you gotta be pretty awesome to get a cameo on the Simpsons.
This actually happened today at my school. Wow.
I don't mind so much people coming late. What I don't like is people leaving early. It is not only disruptive and insulting, but creates an air of negativity and encourages other people to leave as well. I've been in classes where 20 people left at once. It's impossible to stay focused on what you're doing when that happens.
Wow. What a downer when you click on the link. How sad.
