In Austria (well, Innsbruck anyway) medical staff have to wear white tshirts and white pants. Oh, and white shoes. Fortunately I was always in the OR (waking up early, sitting still, paying attention) so I didn't have to bother with that. Not that I own white shoes.
My cousin was a manager at a restaurant where the uniform was a white top and black pants or skirt, with appropriate non-showing bra (for the ladies, of course). One waitress kept wearing brightly colored undergarments and my cousin finally had to talk with her about the rules. She started by asking why this woman had on a purple bra. The response?"Because the moon is in Capricorn! Duh!"
or when a large section of your pleated skirt is trapped under the waist band "in back", and you are not informed of something amiss until end of clinc....and realize the last time you toileted was about six hours ago.... while coat is always appropriate day wear!
