Addiction

Patient: "Can you give me some Percocet to tide me over?"

Dr. Kenalog: "Every time you come here, we give you Percocet. I can't keep giving it to you. I don't want you to get addicted."

Patient: "I don't have an addiction personality for everything. Only for cocaine and marijuana."

(I swear to god she said that.)

  1. I don't get what's so scandalous about that. Is it shocking to you that people can be addicted to cocaine and especially marijuana? A LOT of people are addicted to MJ and it's so common. It's almost as shocking as people using Ritalin or Aderall to get a good grade.

Get off your high horse. And then you get upset when people are shocked about some of your stuff.

    1. You completely missed the point. Once you are addicted to cocaine and marijuana, you lose the right to say you are not prone to addiction.

    2. How easy it is to hide behind "anonymous" and completely misunderstand Fizzy's point.

Obviously you have a number of insecurities that you have failed to address through your adult life, and lash out at others as a result of your denial.

      Truth.

    3. Fizz, that makes a lot more sense now! Thanks for the clarification. I was rushing as I read this.

Aeris, how easy is it to assume the world of someone behind one stupid comment. Judgemental much? I'm sure you're the perfect human being.

  2. "Only for cocaine and marijuana?" Gee, I am sure am glad to hear that. But you still don't get any more Percocet.

  3. Well, that's a relief, you wouldn't want to get someone addicted to Percocet.

  4. "Only Dilaudid works for me". At least those people are honest.

  5. This is great, and that doofus who told you to get off your high horse obviously has issues.
I have to stay anonymous for this one, but the other day I asked a mom whether she smoked during pregnancy. She said only marijuana and cigarettes before she found out she was pregnant. Usually the follow up to this is "then I quit." Not this mom! "When I found out I was pregnant I got really stressed so I smoked a lot more of both." Awesome.

  6. My favorite is when patients ask for Dilaudid but pretend like they don't know what it's called: "It begins with a D...Dilo...Dilotid?"
