How to choose a medical specialty

Match day has come and gone, and now there's a whole new crop of med students who have no idea what to do with their lives. I'm sorry, we can't ALL be born urologists. Anyway, I've composed a highly accurate algorithm for those of you who are still clueless

Note: OK, so after drawing this cartoon, I discovered that another medical specialty algorithm already exists, although it isn't as subtly (or not so subtly) insulting to all specialties as mine is (and it's not in COLOR). So anyway, I guess I accidentally ripped this off, although really, if you take away our right to steal ideas, where are they going to come from??

  3. Oh I love it! I'm a nurse with eventual plans to go into advanced practice and have been waffling over specialty.

  4. Works for me. Somehow found my path to neurology, and after 12 years I still like it.

  9. Recently discovered your blog and as a fellow cartoonist, albeit a veterinarian rather than a MD, I totally understand the comment you made about feeling like you rip off other people's ideas sometimes. I actually have a multi-cartoon series along these lines for vetmed based on the level of optimism on naturally has...
