Study tips

I've got a BFE (Big Freakin' Exam) coming up this weekend, so instead of actually studying, I am drawing cartoons about studying.

Note: I have done all of the above for my current exam. I'm *this close* to showering with my review book.

Calling in sick

As everyone knows, it's frowned about to call in sick as a physician, so we generally drag ourselves to work NO MATTER WHAT. The worst time to call in sick is when you're serving as an intern (i.e. the minions of the hospital). However, there are some instances when you have no choice but to call in sick....

If you're not suffering from one of the above, you better drag your ass to work!

Guest Cartoon: Labor and Delivery

This cartoon was drawn by The Medical RNinja. For the record, some of us were totally pleasant and lovely during our deliveries.

Insane attending stories*

This is a new segment serving as a companion to Cruel Resident Stories, because I've noticed that attendings tend to be more insane than cruel.

*Note: All insane attending stories are 100% true.

Barter

Note: Yes, I realize I'm a couple weeks late in jumping on the Sue Lowden is an idiot bandwagon, but you have to understand that publishing a cartoon is very different than publishing a regular blog post. For every cartoon, I must go through a detailed process of inking, retouching, and coloring, so this obviously takes quite a while.

(Just kidding. It takes me like five minutes.)

Recreational reading

Note: I'm not certain if Michelle Au's book actually has cartoons, but if it does (or even if it doesn't), I'm 100% sure they are several orders of magnitude better than mine. Michelle rocks.
