Stages of Clinical Years

8 comments:

  1. Never had stage 5. Usually it's "You VILL assist on ZEE WHIPPLE!!!"

The challenge was to vanish without them noticing.

  2. I cringed when I recognized the 2 in me. God, I was so ridiculous. Residency, too. I never went that far, but definitely fell just short.

The person who always says yes gets the holy grail:) I've almost got my carrot!

  3. I totally remembered having stage 5 during my last clerkship of the year. The surgeons kept saying things like, "Here, I'll let you hold the CAMERA!!!" expecting me to be all excited about it, and I was all like (in my head), "That's IT??? Why am I wasting my time in here again?"

  4. I'm #2 right now (starting third year in a few days, LOL). Let's keep fingers crossed that I don't have any #1 moments.

  6. I got good at suturing at least by the end of my first rotation (which was OB) - never did a central line though til I was an intern...

  7. Ya, I've got a combo of 1, 2, and 3. Today, I thought my attending said we should get a CR protein electrophoresis. I had no clue what that was, but I quickly wrote an order for it before having to catch up with him to see my next patient. It wasn't until I started researching "CR protein electrophoresis" that I realized he had said "serum". :/ I rushed back to try and change the order, but the nurse had done it for me. "I figured that's what it was supposed to be" she said with that classic smirk and held-back eye roll.
