As usual, Fizzy, everything you say is true. So depressing.
I do think that attendings probably work just as hard as residents. But the difference is, a) they're beginning to be higher on the totem pole, and b) if they manage their career well, the "extra" work is stuff they enjoy. At least that has been the case for many of the attendings I've talked to recently.
