Just in case you had any doubt that this cartoon demonstrated anything short of the truth, I present a photo I discovered that was taken on the evening of a call during intern year:
@TommyGuns M/A I eat almost exclusively healthy food as an intern. It's definitely possible. I suggest bringing abundant quantities of food from home. Options include leftovers, portable foods you can quickly throw together, pre-made food from Whole Foods, and pre-packaged sort-of-healthy food as a last resort . Maybe your hospital cafeteria will be better than mine, which recently got rid of its deep fryer (uproar, of course, ensued).
Lately I eat a lot of peanut butter apple sandwiches on my favorite sprouted wheat bread either for lunch or a quick dinner on my long (call) days.
I hope there were more than one of you
ReplyDeleteto quote every kitty/hamster picture on the "interwebz"...
ReplyDeleteNOM NOM NOM
...but for serious, please tell me that this is not what I have to look forward to diet-wise when I get to intern year.
I have been known to clean my fridge and take anything that's close to outdate and/or borderline palatable to work.
ReplyDeleteSomeone will eat it.
Yeah, that looks a lot like our call room lounge area pretty much every night.
