one of my greatest fears as a med student was being stuck in a hospital elevator - they were super dodgy and no cellphone reception inside meant that you were at the mercy of the 'security' services at the hospital to get you out... i used to be the only fool to walk the 7 floors to get to the medical wards; but the only one never to get stuck in a lift. now as an emergency medicine resident i sometimes wish i would get stuck somewhere on particularly busy nights....
