I was writing a history and physical in Microsoft Word (not the latest version though) and I was actually very surprised by some of the words that it did and didn't recognize. It's even harder than telling a My Little Pony from a porn star. Care to test your luck?
(No cheating by typing the words into Microsoft Word!)
Which of these words did spellcheck think were spelled INCORRECTLY?
I'm going to guess all of the above :).ReplyDelete
No, nothing sneaky like that :)ReplyDelete
I don't know off hand, of course, but I can imagine just how random it was. I'm taking medical terminology, and doing my homework in Word, and it's amazing the relatively "normal" words it thinks are misspelled and the crazy multi-syllabic very medical words it knows. I sure hope it showed "catheterizatiion" as wrong. :-)ReplyDelete
But if you'd spelled it Fizz-iatrist, surely spell check would have recognized THAT.ReplyDelete
Really wish they had a "medical/science dictionary pack" you could download into your spell checker..ReplyDelete
Jonathan - They do. I have one installed on my computer, which makes things so much easier for me. Here's one example: http://mtherald.com/free-medical-spell-checker-for-microsoft-word-custom-dictionary/ReplyDelete
