for my one and only med school interview, i wore black dress capris and a blue sweater. there was a valid reason -- the interview was scheduled last-minute and i was coming there directly from doing aid work in haiti, where safety and space restrictions permitted only a backpack -- but no one interviewing me had any way to know that, nor did they ask. clearly it didn't hurt me too much, but it was still INCREDIBLY intimidating to be the one wearing turquoise in a room full of power suits.
While applicants might want to distinguish themselves from the sea of black suits all around, these are probably not the best choices to use to do so :)
Things I have *actually* seen in the past two years: the retro plaid suit, blue metallic nail polish, soaking wet hair (running really late), unfortunate lower-back crack upon sitting down, hospital clogs with a suit... we actually all really liked the girl in clogs.
I often have wet hair...I just cannot stand I blow dry my hair since my stroke. I dont know if other stroke patients have this problem but I struggle with all things hair related since. Haircuts, Hair left down, brushing my hair... Now I wonder how much of a failure I look in life...
