  1. Fizzy - this post is why I love your blog. Thank you from the primary care doc in the trenches

  2. At least this patient is asking his doctor and not using Google to diagnose himself!

  4. When I read this I was like HECK. YES!
I would like to have massive explanatory posters explaining these things everywhere. Except, I most of my patients can't read. And I have a feeling that in developed countries where most people CAN read, they still don't.

    1. Where there is a will there is a way -- You will need to draw explanatory cartoons for your patients who don't read. And run the lectures on video-loop in your office waiting room.

  6. Great cartoon, but that patient looks way too healthy! ;-)

I can forgive people a little bit about slacking on their healthcare (it's hard to always do everything exactly like you should), but it drives me crazy when people seem to be digging their own grave.

  7. I think my patients paid about as much attention to my mini lecture series as I did when my parents gave me advice.... Now I just tell them to repent or die! It doesn't work but it makes me feel better.

  9. Don't forget the "why I'm not going to give you antibiotics for your cold"

  10. As a current family medicine resident, love this, and would also like to add "your blood pressure is already much too high, and if you keep doing cocaine it will most definitely kill you." (given 3 times the last week...)
