Right now, I am paying for the following services:
Hulu Plus
Netflix streaming
Cable Plus
Amazon Prime
Yet there's no way to watch the first season of The Big Bang Theory without paying an extra $20 through Amazon. And NO WAY AT ALL to get old episodes of Worst Cooks in America.
There's always piracy.
ReplyDeleteFor real, sometimes that's the only way to find relatively obscure movies or programs. And before someone jumps down my throat, making things impossible to obtain legally is positively correlated with illegal activity. See prohibition.
If a show isn't available anymore in any of those services, one can assume it's because it's no longer profitable. If that is the case, then piracy is harmless. I wonder if this site works in the U.S., if it does, I hope you enjoy it! http://eztv.it
ReplyDeleteAs an european, that's where I get all the episodes of all the series I enjoy. Some of them will never be aired here, most of them will be aired with a huge delay...
Anonymous european here again.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention that we don't have access to Netflix or any similar service. They are not available outside the U.S. I would happily pay a subscription for that kind of service, but piracy is the only option available...
Netflix is most certainly available outside the US, though I'll grant that the Canadian version doesn't have quite the same mix of stuff.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, if you want to watch repeats of Big Bang Theory, why not just watch TBS/Peachtree? It seems to be on all the time...
I want to watch them in order from the beginning...
DeleteLet me rephrase then: not available in Europe. Netflix or anything similar.
DeleteDespite that, I have all the seasons of The Big Bang Theory ;)
Worlds worst cooks? Was my ex on the show? She is the only one I know that ever burned boiled eggs.
ReplyDeleteI have actually burned boiled eggs. I feel better now.
DeleteCheck your public library for Big Bang theory. Mine has it!
ReplyDeleteWorst cooks has to be one of the hardest things to find now. I love that show, but after they made it available only on cable, I stopped watching it. I used to watch it on Hulu first, then on the foodnetwork website, and now it's just a memory.
ReplyDeletePiracy...sometimes you gotta do it.
ReplyDeleteStahp it! Don't give away eztv like that! But, yes, it is a good site for finding old seasons to view. Maybe look into utorrent?
ReplyDeleteSo mad!!!! I pay for Netflix cuz I refuse to pay for cable and I have watched 4 seasons of Breaking Bad and they won't load season 5! I even tried to pay to watch it on You tube! I want them to start a good book and let me walk up and rip it out of their hands as they start the juicy last chapter! Ugh!!!!
ReplyDeleteUmmmm, find DVDs of the old seasons on Craigslist? Seriously sometimes people sell them for wicked cheap.
ReplyDeleteBig Bang Theory is run repeatedly over and over on regular cable TV. If you TiVo it and check the dates you will get it in order. They tend to run in a row on the week-days and jump to a different season on the week-ends. Not too difficult.
ReplyDeleteI really didn't want to be anonymous but am too busy to figure out a faster way.
ReplyDeleteAnd Netflix has to pay for the rights before they can add it to there list. Lost Larry Sanders show while I was watching it supposedly because the price for the rights went up and Netflix chose not to renew.

ReplyDeleteYup.
