Haha! My biggest fear is/was my pants falling down in the middle of the surgery. Our school requires students to wear these terrible canary yellow scrubs that they provide- the only problem is they only come in one size XXXL. So if you're small, it's a bit of an adventure. We had to start bringing hair ties and pins to keep our pants up, but it's still always a gamble if you don't tie it just right!
5.fainting on an 8-hour pancreatectomy because of hypoglycemia. Secretly biting self trying to get some adrenaline from pain and maintain standing position

ReplyDeleteMy school was exactly the same. The XS there was your usual XXL, and it was never available anyway.
DeleteI am guilty of number 1, fearsome of 2, proud of never falling into 3, and afraid I was never trusted with 4.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest fear was contaminating the OR table or, even worse, the surgical site. I hated being sterile so much.

ReplyDeleteMy biggest fear is accidentally contaminating something. But cutting the knot wrong is pretty high too.
