Cold hands, warm heart

I touch patient's swollen knee.

Patient: "Your hands are so cold. That actually feels really good."

Me: "Uh, okay good."

Patient: "Now could you put your hands on my face?"

  1. "And when you're done with my face could you put them down here?"

  2. This actually happened to me, too, but with a standardized patient. It was like 99 degrees out, but my hands are always freezing. I guess the SP had recently been outside because when I started to rub my hands together to warm them up he asked me not to. *shrug*

  3. HAHAHA. That cracked me up, and I shouldn't be reading anything remotely amusing at work...
