I currently have an iPhone 5s. I really love it. The size is perfect in terms of being small enough to fit in my hand and big enough for me to comfortably see the screen.
My husband has a iPhone 6. He likes it, but he says it's difficult to hold because of its size. And his hand is a lot bigger than mine.
I feel frustrated because if I want to upgrade my phone, I can't, because I don't want to have a giant phone. I just want something small that I can hold in my hand. Is the future of phones really having something so gigantic that you can't even hold it to make a phone call?
My husband claims that nobody wants small phones anymore. But then he admits that he wants a smaller phone. And I want a smaller phone. I can't believe that we are the only two people in the universe who don't want a gigantic phone.
I'm in the same boat! I too have an iPhone 5S that has served me faithfully, but it is getting along in years. I'm worried a cheap Windows phone may be my best option in terms of size
ReplyDeleteoh no, I might have to buy a cheap phone instead of an super expensive Iphone because it's actually a better option for me, but then how will people know I have money?!
DeleteListen to yourself... I'm worried a CHEAP phone will be a BETTER option?? that's actually a good thing!!! ....
That would be a useful observation, but for the fact that it ignores the fact that the 6 and the to-be-released 6s are better technically than the 5s. It's a question of priorities - which is more important, form factor or capabilities?
DeleteI felt the exact same way... Until I got a big phone. Now I'll never go back.
ReplyDeleteBut how do you talk on it? Isn't it hard to hold?
DeleteI was the same way and reluctantly got an iPhone six. Now when I see someone with a five it looks so tiny and wimpy. Even with a big protective case it fits in my hand just fine and I've gotten used to thumb typing with it upright instead of sideways like my old phone. My main worry was that it would not fit in my back pocket but apparently my rear end is bigger than I thought because it fits just fine

I love my big phone. My husband hates it.....we named it BAP....Big Ass Phone.
ReplyDeleteI Don't love talking on it....but then again I hate talking on any phone.
Bluetooth headset to make calls while phone is pocketed? Also maximizes douchey appearance.
ReplyDeleteDoes your husband have a 6 or a 6 plus? If it's a 6 plus check out the 6 as it should be fine! The 6 plus is definitely too big & I made the mistake of going that route! When I'm alone, I always use it on speaker because it's just too big too hold & never fits into my pocket. So, run (VERY FAST) from the 6 plus.
ReplyDeleteI have a 6 plus. I love it. You get used to the size very quickly. And it's so nice to be able to read up to date an stuff (I'm a medical student) without squinting. It doesn't fit in my pocket but neither did my 5s, really.
ReplyDeleteThe 6 isn't that much bigger than the 5s. You'll be fine I'm sure!
You can increase the font size w/ any of the iPhone's 4 & up? But I'll never get used to the 6 plus & if I could return it I'd do it in a heartbeat? But some people like it & that's okay. Not like you needed me to tell you that. But in my opinion the 6 plus is just too big. It really becomes a problem after holding it for too long.....it's just too heavy. Let us know what you do Fizzy. If you're not sure how to increase the font size let me know & I'll be happy to leave instructions.
DeleteThat's true but then you have to scroll a ton and the pictures and tables are tiny. I don't hold it for long phone calls very often, but when I do, you're right, it's annoying. I'm usually alone or in the car, so in both cases I'm not holding the phone.
DeleteI felt that way about my Samsung Galaxy S3. When it broke shortly after I got it I didn't replace it. But now I love using a headset to talk as it keeps my hands free.
ReplyDeleteThat's what you get for buying Apple: A cutting edge technology that will be obsoleted by its competition in 6 months, and you will be told what you will like and what you will buy by slick apple marketers who think they know more than you do.
ReplyDeleteGet an android, and get control of your (phone) life.
I thought androids started the Big phone craze?
DeleteSony Xperia Z3 compact. Amazing specs for a small phone.
ReplyDeleteI went from a 5c to the 6 and didn't notice that much of a difference. I actually wanted the 6s but they didn't have any in stock. My niece, who is an engineer and had to analyze everything before she buys it, went from a 5s to the 6 and we both say there's not much of a difference; you get used to the size. We both have small hands and have no trouble holding the phone or making calls. And I have a huge otterbox case on mine as well. As for hands free, my new car has it, and it's the only place I need it. So buy a Hyundai. :)
ReplyDeleteLove my iPhone 6, and I'm looking forward to trading up to the 6S next month. (I decided last year to go with the AT&T NEXT plan since I end up trading when the new iPhones come out anyway.) Several friends have the 6 Plus, but I already have an iPad so why go there?
ReplyDeleteI had to upgrade my delightful 4 year old phone (it took several minutes to actually place a phone call, which is terrible when returning stat pages!) and am now stuck with a 5.5 inch behemoth that hardly fits in my purse, let alone my scrub pocket. I kind of hate it but can't justify buying another, especially since I can't find anything < 5 inches anyway.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the phablet craze will die down in a couple years and we can go back to human-sized devices.
i want an iPhone the size of the Iphone 4 that is as thin as the iphone 6
