These were the two saddest comments I heard from my family members about the election:
From my daughter: "Well, at least Clinton won the election we had in our school."
From my mother: "I'm so excited... now we get to see what Melania Trump is wearing for the next four years!" (Not said sarcastically)
Funny how this election has revealed welcome and unwelcome knowledge about other people,
ReplyDeleteDoes your daughter's school have an electoral college?
ReplyDeleteThe first one is indeed the saddest. If only we all had the perspective of children, who stand to suffer the full force of the choices made by their parents.
ReplyDeleteI believed our country was better than this.
ReplyDeleteNow that I've had a few days to process it, it seems clear that Trump won with the same general support that all Republicans got. It was the fault of liberals who didn't show up for voting that propelled him to victory. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI genuinely don't understand how people could not decide between Hillary and Trump. Even if you don't like the person, you have to look at what they stand for and what they will fight for. Even people who hate Hillary, now recognize that they are terrified of the Supreme Court decisions that will now be made with Scalia replaced by an equally conservative justice.
Yay, Trump clothes, what fun! Guess who I voted for?????
