I got the idea from Dr. Grumpy that it's okay to post reruns of older (better) material during the holidays so that I don't have to actually think. So I'm going to spend the holidays posting some old cartoons, from back in the days when the name of this blog actually meant something...
They may be re-runs to you, but they're new and shiny to those of us who just found the blog.
ReplyDeleteI remember those days and still enjoy them, but our lives do evolve. It's good to look back now and then.
ReplyDeleteI'd always wondered about why it was called *A Cartoon* Guide to Becoming a Doctor... now I know.
ReplyDeleteThe relationship between crap in your pocket and level of training is so true, though it's slightly diminished because of phone apps (see especially UpToDate, Sanford, etc.).
ReplyDeleteAt this point all I carry is a pen, a patient list, and my ID (well on a lanyard). Generally I'll have my stethoscope, but another mark of seniority is relying on juniors to have them and just borrowing them repeatedly throughout the day. (Am I really supposed to carry that thing *around my neck* all the way from ICU to emerg? Come on...)
Thank you for putting up your old cartoons! I miss them!
